Kyra Clarkson Architect

KCA is a design-oriented firm with a focus on urban residential architecture. Every project aims to bring natural daylight into the centre of buildings, to foster a sense of connection between spaces, and to maintain a consistent simplicity in all details.

Experience with the City of Toronto approvals processes includes negotiating through planning reviews, successfully obtaining zoning variances, and getting building permits. Good relationships with engineers and contractors are central to the design development process, and true collaboration between the design and construction teams is the key to the success of every project.

Kyra Clarkson, principal architect at KCA, holds a Masters in Architecture from Yale University and has been working as an architect since 1995. She is licensed in both the province of Ontario and New York State.

Kyra founded KCA in 2007 after having worked for seven years at Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects in New York City and two years at Shim-Sutcliffe Architects in Toronto.
